Design Story 03 of 04 · Petieer
Modern life, observed through pets.
Dry humor, strong hierarchy, and affection expressed without making a speech about it.
Present. Loyal. Unavailable for unnecessary meetings.
The story in shared life
Deadpan Club watches modern life from the pet's side of the room: slightly tired, clearly observant, and affectionate in an indirect way.
The line is short, the hierarchy is strong, and the joke never becomes cruel. What remains underneath is the comfort of someone who stays.
The expression is flat. The bond is not.
Four club rules
Deadpan Club earns attention through restraint, timing, and a clear point of view.
Start with a real behavior or frustration that a pet makes easier to see.
Remove the setup, the extra punctuation, and anything the expression already says.
Give the short line enough contrast and space to arrive without shouting.
Keep the affection present beneath the detachment. The pet is never the target.
Visual language
Deadpan Club is typography-led and immediately readable, with enough warmth to remain part of Petieer.
Sentence case, concise phrasing, and a strong hierarchy carry the observation.
Icons and silhouettes stay clean enough to work on apparel, mats, mugs, and small goods.
A single muted accent keeps the high-contrast system connected to the master brand.
Story scenes
Deadpan Club works when the observation is specific, the expression is calm, and the page knows when to stop.
